Five Things to do in Marion This Week: Yoga, Knitting and a Luau

1. SCORE Small Business Rountable 

The is hosting the SCORE Small Business Rountable on viral marketing, this Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The workshop instructs small business managers how to virally market their business using social networks.

2. Linn Area Reads Book Discussion

Think of the Linn Area Reads program as an enormous book club. Patrons of the metro library network are reading the book "Righteous Porkchop: Finding a Life and Good Food Beyond Factory Farms," by Nicolette Hahn Niman. Each week the group is meeting at the Barnes and Noble in Cedar Rapids. You can drop by this Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

3. Library Knit Wits

The is hosting the Library Knit Wits, a Marion knitting group, this Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. People of all ages and knitting skills are welcome to come. Also, feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks. 

4. Introductory Pilates/Yoga Class

OHM Studio is giving an introductory class for beginners to learn the art of Pilates and yoga. This class will start Tuesday at 7 p.m. and will cost $40. OHM studio is located at 1060 7th Ave.

5. Marion High School Luau

This Friday will be holding "the best dance of all." It’s the Marion High School Luau and it starts at 8 p.m. Entry to the dance is $3 for those dressed in Luau attire and $4 for those that show up unprepared. There will be a limbo competition and a hula hoop contest, among other activities.
