Watch: Linn-Mar Student Wins Volunteer of the Year Award
One Linn-Mar Sophomore was recognized for her work with the disabled at her high school.
Katie Schlegel, a Linn-Mar High School sophomore, has won the United Way of East Central Iowa's youth volunteer of the year award.
Schlegel was given the award due to her commitment to the Linn-Mar High School Best Buddies Program, where she helps disabled students with academic and social skills.
