Will Marion Republicans Back Romney With First Choice Santorum Out of the Race?

Four months ago, Marion Republican Caucus goers chose Santorum as their top pick, but recent events have put him out of the race.

You, Marion voters, chose Rick Santorum in the Iowa Caucus over four months ago.

In Marion precincts, 33 percent of residents picked Santorum, while only 13 percent went for Mitt Romney.

Since then, Santorum rode a rocket-ship of post-caucus popularity that, for a while, seemed to boost his chances of getting the Republican nomination.

But just yesterday, he called it quits, and nearly simultaneously, Mitt Romney gets the nod from our governor, Terry Branstad.

That means if all the hype is true and Mitt Romney gets the Republican nomination, Republican Marion voters will have to settle for their third choice, below Santorum and Ron Paul, who finished second.
