To most longboarders, the sport has become more of a lifestyle than anything else. Entire days are dedicated to carving pavement, skating up and down hills, and stopping for a bite to eat now and again.
This is a film I made in and around Marion, following around some friends and their boards.
How It Was Made
My friends and I met up and traveled around town, picking spots to start filming at. Some of the main roads used in the film include Tower Terrace Road, 35th Street, and 27th Street.
Most of the shots were recorded from the open trunk of a car traveling in front of the longboarders. I used a Sony NEX 5 camera to get the footage, and held it on a tripod for image stabilization.

The Devil Is In The Beats by The Chemical Brothers. I mashed it up with audio from the Apollo 11 moon landing just to give a strange feel.
