Light, Blowing Snow Continuing in Marion

You can rely on Marion Patch for updates on weather related stories, including traffic accidents, closings and road conditions.

For most of us, snow means a few things: wet socks, slippery, slushy roads and the subconscious hope that things get bad enough to justify not going to work.

According to The Weather Channel and a peak outside my window, it's not that bad yet. Around two inches have fallen as of yet, but not much of the white stuff seems to be in store for Marion by the end of the day.

The National Weather Service has issued a "hazardous weather outlook" for several counties including Linn County. The National Weather Service forecast lists a 30 percent chance of snow with a high near 25 degrees. A blustery northwest wind between 15 and 25 miles per hour and gusts as high as 30 miles per hour, could put wind chill values as low as zero, according to the weather service.

With the wind blowing snow around, drivers will want to take precaution.

As for the rest of the week, we're looking at additional snow acumulation through Thursday and Friday. But with highs that don't reach 30 degrees, we might not see a lot of that snow melting.
