Marion's Latest Exhibit Unveiled

Two local pastel artists presented and spoke about their work for the Marion Arts Council's most recent exhibit, The Warmth of Nature.

The newest gallery at Lowe Park represents a change of pace.

The last exhibit, filled with artwork from local college students, was composed of varied, often abstract styles.

The current exhibit features Joan Chadima and Dell Magnuson-Secor, two local pastel artists whose lush paintings of flowers and landscapes line the walls of .

Last night, the Marion Arts Council held a reception for the artists and the gallery, titled The Warmth of Nature.

The artists spoke briefly on their fondness of nature and the bright tones that come from pastel paintings.

The current gallery runs until the end of March. The next exhibit will feature work from George Lowe.

Lowe Park is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
