Bigger and Better Linn Area Credit Union Open for Business in Marion

The Marion Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new branch on Monday, after the business opened its doors a week earlier.

After roughly 22 years at its 31st Street location, the Marion branch of Linn Area Credit Union now boasts a new home and updated design. The relocated branch opened on January 7 at 3375 7th Avenue, in Lincolnview Square.

Jim Hagerman, the credit union’s chief executive, said he’s been excited about the .

The new 7th Avenue branch of the credit union is larger, with a higher ceiling and a more spacious reception area. Hagerman described the design as part of a “concierge approach.” He said this layout will likely be more functional, allowing employees to interact more with members of the credit union.

New features also include a bigger drive-up facility and a nicer, upscale appearance, Hagerman said.

He added the credit union has a large membership in Marion, consisting of several thousand members.

On Monday morning, the Marion Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at the new location. Mayor Allen “Snooks” Bouska attended the event, where credit union employees gathered for photos, short speeches, and breakfast.
