A local consortium comprised of regional college and university career centers, along with the Iowa City Area Development Group and the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, invite local employers to attend an hour long breakfast about establishing and maintaining successful internship programs.
The “Internship How-To” breakfast will be Thursday, April 17, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. at the Mount Mercy CRST International Graduate Center, 1599 Wenig Road, in Cedar Rapids. The event provides employers an overview of internship programs, including legal requirements, dos and donts, and best practices. A diverse panel of Corridor non-profits and companies, representing various staffing sizes, will share their experiences. Also, guided table discussions will be scheduled during the final twenty minutes of the event to tackle specific internship questions expected to arise during the presentation.
