Blog: Should I Be Present at My Open House or Showing?

Is it a good idea for a seller to be present during an open house/showing?

Every now and then, a seller wants to be present during the open house or a showing. And while they have the right to be, they really are only shooting themselves in the foot by doing so.

Buyers want to be able to come into a house without the owner present. This allows couples to talk openly to one another about what they like about the house and what they would have to change.

If buyers walk into a home and the owner is present they are often taken aback.
They won’t spend as much time looking and considering the home as they would if the owner was not home.
