High-Wind Advisory Issued for Marion Area; Strong Thunderstorms Possible

The National Weather Service has issued a strong-wind advisory for Marion and the surrounding area.

The weather service says showers and strong thunderstorms could hit the area at least through 1 p.m. today. 

Sustained winds of up to 30 mph are expected out of the south, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of rain is 60 percent.
