Marion Farmers Market is on the Move

Due to construction, the Marion Farmers Market will no longer be located in the parking lot of the Marion Shopping Center.

You may have noticed that the Marion Shopping Center shopping center is under heavy construction right now.

With the dozens of tons of heavy machinery and concrete matter flying around like dust in the old west, you might think it is a terrible location for this year's farmers market, which is usually in the mall's parking lot.

You'd be right.

According to the Gazette, the organizers of the Marion Farmers Market have chosen a new site for the farms market, when it comes back this May.

"This is the best location we can think of at this time," said Pat Carlson, administrative assistant for the , to the Gazette.

The way Carlson described it to the Gazette, it doesn't sound ideal, but it it will work.

The location is not as visable as the location right off of Seventh Avenue, but it does have enough space to house the 20 or so vendors  in addition to customer parking.

The Marion Farmers Market will open 3-6 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays, starting May 5 and running through September 29.
