Marion Man Charged With Stabbing CR Resident in Head, Neck and Back

Marion resident Jason Morris has been charged with attempted murder of a Cedar Rapids man.

Marion resident Jason Morris has been charged with attempted murder, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.

The original incident took place back on September 22, 2011. At that time Stephen Allen, 32, of Cedar Rapids, was stabbed in the head, neck and back, according to police.

Morris was arrested for the incident at his home on Tuesday, according to Cedar Rapids police.

According to an article from KCRG on the original stabbing incident last fall, police responded at 3:30 a.m. to the scene of the crime in Southwest Cedar Rapids.

Allen was immediately rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital for surgery.

Attempted murder is a Class B felony, which can mean a prison sentence of up to 25 years.

Cedar Rapids police did not respond immediately to an interview request.
