What can you do on MLK Day?

  • At the 26th Annual Remembering Martin Luncheon at the Kirkwood Hotel in Cedar Rapids, four students from the and the will be named Remembering Martin Student Honorees. The students are being singled out for their demonstration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's characteristics through their schoolwork, behavior and volunteer efforts. The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The local effort is from several different area-organizations: Coe College, Community Corrections Improvement Association, Mount Mercy University, Sixth Judicial District Department of Correctional Services, and United Way of East Central Iowa.
