Marion Weather: A Wet (But Warmer) Weekend, With a Chance for Fog and Rain

It's looking wet and potentially foggy Friday and this weekend as warm air moves into the area. Oh, and watch out for falling icicles.

You know all that snow we got a few days ago?

Yeah, say a sad farewell to your snow forts and snowmen, because most of the snow is not going to be there in a few days.

It's where it's going to go once it melts that might be part of the problem.

A warm front is bringing rain and potentially some fog to Eastern Iowa this weekend. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the area with a note that patches of dense fog may possible due to the warm air and the amount of moisture on the ground right now, with some fog possible this (Friday) morning.

DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT AREAS OF EARLY MORNING FOG ARE EXPECTED TO AFFECT PORTIONS OF EASTERN IOWA. THIS FOG WILL BE VARIABLE IN NATURE...AND MAY BE DENSE IN SOME LOCATIONS...WITH VISIBILITIES TO A QUARTER MILE OR LESS. .

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT...A STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING WARMER TEMPERATURES AND WIDESPREAD RAINFALL. MODERATE RAINFALL AMOUNTS AND MELTING SNOW MAY LEAD TO PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN AREAS...MINOR FLOODING ALONG SMALL STREAMS...AND POSSIBLE ICE JAMS ON AREA RIVERS. THERE WILL ALSO BE A POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD DENSE FOG.

The National Weather Service has potential high temperatures near the 40s in Marion, however, so that should be nice for a bit until the temperature levels back down to near freezing during the week. Meanwhile Weather Underground has temperatures in the mid 40s and 50s late next week, so I'm hoping they're right. Sadly, they also predict a chance for fog.
