Marion Weather Alert: Marion Winter Storm Watch Monday as Snow Approaches. 4-10 Inches of Snow Possible

On Monday, the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities is setting an area in Eastern Iowa including Linn County in a winter weather watch from Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon as a new winter storm approaches.

The weather forecast for Marion from the weather service includes a chance for snow tonight through Tuesday. The Weather Underground multi day forecast has temperatures increasing into the high 30s and low 40s after the storm leaves later in the week.
KCRG's latest snowfall predictions for this storm place it in the 4-8 inch range, with much of that coming from Monday night to Tuesday morning.
Light snow will develop mainly after midnight and continue into Monday morning. Some roads, mainly north of Hwy 20, could be slick for the Monday commute. It appears the snow will stay fairly light in most areas through much of the day, but the intensity will start to pick up in the evening. Most of the snow will fall Monday night into Tuesday morning before gradually tapering off. Travel through these times could be difficult with widespread 4-8” possible by the end of Tuesday
