Weird Iowa: Oops! Do-Over on Council Vote, Little League Obscenities, and Bush League 'Parenting'

Weird vote, weird crime, weird sports, weird vampire hunter, Weird Iowa.

Politicians and board members get into their line of work knowing that not everybody's going to agree with them every time. In Marion, disagreement with a political vote went to an extreme: The Parks Board realize that it had voted against its own wishes.

Also from Marion, this next item is more disturbing than weird, which doesn't make it normal. Seems when police set up a sting operation, they lured people to area motels with the promise of prostitutes. Kind of normal. But what police found wasn't: "Johns" who showed up to do their business had

Over to Iowa City and more weird crime. Police there arrested an Iowa City man who is at City Park on Sunday. Police say they found Phillip Chavis, 29, standing outside in a parking lot in Lower City Park.  Chavis smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech, according to a police criminal complaint. He was alone near two open Busch Light beer cans, but denied drinking them, according to police.

So the great American pasttime is spoiled in Iowa City. No fear. Since it's sumer in Iowa, it's time for...Hockey? Yep. 

Finally, from the More-Spectacular-Than-Weird Department, Iowa State's Will Clayburn showed an almost abnormal ability in the YMCA Capital City Basketball Leauge. Clyburn set an all-time league scoring record, going 22 of 34 from the field for 63 points.
