Iowa City Food Waste Reduction Workshop

The Iowa Waste Reduction Center (IWRC) will be holding a food waste reduction workshop on September 30 at the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center. The workshop, focusing on methods to reduce food waste and divert it from the landfill includes presentations and discussions from regional experts such as Jen Jordan, Recycling Coordinator at the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center and Alicia Presto, Area 4 Representative from the Iowa Waste Exchange.

Attendees will also hear from IWRC specialists as well as a panel of representatives from area organizations and businesses who will identify the challenges to food waste reduction and diversion. The workshop will conclude with a tour of the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center.
