14-Year-Old Marion Boy Charged with Assault

A 14-year-old Marion boy was charged with assault, according to the Marion Police Department.

The boy was arrested May 24 at 5:19 p.m.

Assault is a class D felony.

Violent Crime

Seven others were charged by the Marion Police Department with violent crimes in the time period between May 18 and May 31, according to police records.

Jody Lee Funk, 40, Hiawatha, was charged May 18 with two counts of assault without intent to injure at 4680 Vasey Avenue.

Jimmie Lavern Miller, 32, Cedar Rapids, was charged May 20 with assault without intent to injure, at 1625 Blairs Ferry Road.

Kayla Mae Schaefer, 20, 3910 Highway 151, Marion, was charged May 21 with simple domestic assault and interference with official acts, at her home.

Heath Mark Pierce, 1710 44th Street, Marion, was charged May 24 with simple domestic assault, at his home.

Scott Eric Rickles, 38, Cedar Rapids, was charged May 26 with assault at 755 Seventh Avenue.

Jesse Lee Shannon Fleury, 29, 1321 Grand Avenue, Marion, was charged with domestic assault causing serious injury and/or mental illness at the 100 block of 15th Street.

James Louis Banks, 43, 125 Southview Drive, Marion, was charged with domestic assault causing serious injury and/or mental illness, at his home.
