Why Getting Picked Up Three Times in a Week on Shoplifting Charges is Least of Marion Man's Problems

James Sullivan, 30, of Marion, was charged with fourth degree theft and possession of drug paraphernalia on March 26, but according to the his contact with them was far from over.

Marion Police Detective Lance Miller said he was caught again later that week, on April 1, shoplifting from the Barnes & Noble in Cedar Rapids. Miller said they were tipped off that Sullivan was going to be shoplifting.

"He had some serious shoplifting issues," said Miller.

But the next day, Miller said Marion police coincidentally received a federal arrest warrant with Sullivan's name on it, for distribution of heroin.

Miller said he was arrested that day for the third time that week. Sullivan is currently in federal custody for the distribution of heroin charge, Miller said.
