Marion Woman Charged with Domestic Assault

The following information was provided by the Marion Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Amy Lou Mead, a 47-year-old Marion resident, was charged with domestic assault causing serious injury and/or mental illness.

arrested her at her home on 131 Southview Drive at 11:28 p.m. on Monday, May 14.

Domestic assault causing serious injury and/or mental illness is a serious misdemeanor.

In addition, two Marion males were also charged with domestic assault causing serious injury and/or mental illness, between May 11 and May 17.

Mario Antonio Alston, 32, 1065 Willow Park Court, Marion, was charged May 16 with domestic assault causing serious injury and/or mental illness, at his home.

Ronald Cornell Thomas, 1375 Black Hawk Drive, Marion, was charged May 16 with domestic assault causing serious injury and/or mental illness, at his home.

Another Marion woman was charged with assault.

Courney Michelle Laton, 18, Cedar Rapids, was charged May 16 with assault at the 500 block of Fifth Street.
