Encore: Police: Alleged Marion Burglar Arrested, Charged with Unrelated Felony While Still in Jail

UPDATE: A 47-year-old Marion man, , was arrested twice, once after allegedly breaking into storage garages and once for possession with intent to distribute while he was booked in Linn County Jail.

How?

Marion Police say they saw Waddington fleeing from Ideal Storage storage units and found burglar's tools on him in addition to drugs and drug parphernlia, last May 19. Police allegedly went back to the storage units and found that some of the storage containers locks were broken.

He was charged with interference with official acts, possession of burglar’s tools, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

After he was temporarily sent to Linn County Jail, Marion Police officers obtained a search warrant for Waddington's home on 1410 Red Fox Way.

There, Miller said police were surprised to see a marijuana growing operation, lots of "stuff" Miller said police believe were stolen in burglaries. 

He was charged with a drug tax stamp violation, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.

Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute is a class A felony.

Miller said the investigation into the alleged stolen goods is ongoing and more charges may be filed.
