Election 2012: Need a Ride? Want to Help Drive Democracy?

You still have time to vote by mail, but if you want to head to the polls and need a ride -- or want to provide one -- let your Patch neighbors know.

So, you've studied up on the 2012 election candidates and issues, learned all there is to know, and you're ready to cast your ballot.

Only one problem: You need a ride to your polling place.

In Iowa, there's still time to vote absentee by mail, but those days are just about up. The ballot must be postmarked by Nov. 5 and received in the in the county auditor’s office no later than noon on the Monday following the election. For school and some city and special elections, the return deadline may be earlier. Read the instructions sent with the ballot.
