By now, Iowans have already had a heavy dose of Rick Perry. His TV ads run seemingly every commercial break.

But, the Hawkeye State ain't seen nothing yet.

The Perry camp just announced a two-week, 42-city bus tour that starts in western Iowa in Council Bluffs on Dec. 14, winds around the state and ends on New Year's Eve in Des Moines. In between, Perry will be in Elkader, Le Mars, DeWitt, Clinton and Urbandale, to name a few of the stops.

The tour also squeezes in a four-day break around Christmas.

The Iowa caucuses are January 3. Patch will have live coverage of the results as they come in.

"Governor and Mrs. Perry and their friends and allies will barnstorm the state of Iowa and share his strong record and vision of fiscal conservatism and job creation, overhauling Washington, and the importance of faith and values," spokeswoman Katherine Cesinger said in an email to Patch. "Gov. Perry is excited about being in Iowa again to personally meet with voters to earn their trust and support over the next couple of weeks."

Another campaign spokesman, Ray Sullivan, told Politico, "Retail campaigning though is a particular strength and virtually no other candidate can dive into a crowd, can connect with individual voters as well as Rick Perry.”

Does Rick Perry have a prayer with Iowa evangelicals -- or any other voters? Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

Perry started strong in Iowa back in August, but has fallen. The latest Iowa Poll shows Perry with 6 percent of support among likely Iowa caucusgoers, far behind former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who garnered 25 percent of the support.

In another recent effort, Perry released a new TV ad, "Strong," which many see as a grab for Iowa evangelical voters.
