Marion Man Chosen as Democratic Delegate for 2012 Election.

Man is one of 35 Iowans chosen to be national delegates for the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

A Marion resident is one of 35 Iowans chosen to serve as national delegates for the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC.

Iowa Democratic Party chair Sue Dvorsky, announced that Marion resident Samuel Gray will be one of several delegates for Iowa's first congressional district, according to a release from Dvorsky.

Dvorsky went on to explain that this year's delegates were chosen to represent the diverse nature of Iowa, including members of Iowa's LGBT community, seniors, students and veterans.

"Our State Party has a reputation for being highly organized, enthusiastic and inclusive," she said in the release. "We’re proud to see that our aggressive outreach effort has brought a diverse mix of new voices into the effort to reelect President Obama in November."
