Will Road Closures in Marion Affect Your Travels?

According to the City of Marion, McGowan Boulevard will be under construction for the next four weeks.

The construction project involves reworking roads from 27th Street to 31rst Street. It's the first phase in reconstruction, with the next phase involving the closure of the west side of 29th Street to the East Side of 31rst Street.

Also, you may have noticed that South 11th Street is under heavy reconstruction at the intersection of Grand Avenue. According to documents from the City of Marion, the construction will be completed by the end of the first week in May.

However, as the closure of South 11th Street is a part of a larger reconstruction project for that street, shortly after that intersection opens, much of South 11th Street north of Grand Avenue will close.
