Kirkwood Funding Levy Approved Again: Linn County School Board Results

Also: The unopposed candidates for Linn-Mar and Marion Independent's open seats predictably coasted to victory.

With a vote of 57 percent yes and 42 percent no, Linn County School District voters approved another 10-year stint of a levy that provides funding for Kirkwood Community College.

The levy has been in place for 30 years already and returns to the ballot for renewal every 10 years. For taxpayers, the levy amounts to $3 for every $100,000 of taxable valuation on a property, which generates $1.2 million for Kirkwood every year.

Linn-Mar and Marion School Districts both had three candidates running for three empty slots, and as you might expect, they won handily.

Here are all of the Linn County voting results.
