Linn-Mar Lions Fall to Cedar Falls Tigers

Cedar Falls beat the Lions Friday 27-10, making Linn-Mar's record 4-1.

The Linn-Mar Lions lost Friday's game against Cedar Falls 27-10.

The Lions were ahead in the middle of the second quarter, 7-0, but gave up 10 points later in the quarter, followed by two touchdowns by the end of the game.

This leaves undefeated the Cedar Falls Tigers, ranked fourth in the state, and the Lions with a record of 4-1.

Tigers player Elijah Berregaard told the Courier that he was surprised by the lack of the Lion's defense.

"I was really surprised," he said. "I got the ball and I don’t think [the Lion defense] even knew where I was. I saw all that green and I just went for it."

Linn-Mar has had only three returning players to their varsity football team, which Lions coach Bob Forsyth previously said accounts for their losing record.
