Linn-Mar Lions Squeak By Dubuque on Last Minute Score

The Linn-Mar boys basketball team just managed to beat the Dubuque High School in the 2012 Iowa Boys State Basketball quarterfinals.

A last minute assist by High School basketball legend Marcus Paige sent the Lions to a one-point victory in the state quarterfinals tonight.

, who is taking his talents to North Carolina, scored 23 points leading Marion past Dubuque in a class 4A game by a score of 51-50 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Iowa Prep Sports had this to say on Twitter of the team's game and thrilling 19-4 season.

"Yet another final four for Linn-Mar. That program may be the best overall in-state over the last decade."

The team's next game, the semi-final round, will be held this Friday at 3:15 p.m., against the winner of Iowa City West and Waukee.
