New Novak Principal a Panther Fan Who's Ready to Help Kids Reach Their Potential

Carol O'Donnell is the new Novak Elementary principal, replacing the retiring Joe North.

Carol O'Donnell will be the new face guiding the children and teachers at Novak Elementary when school gets back in session next month.

O'Donnell is replacing the popular Joe North, who retired as principal this summer.

When asked what she is looking forward to in her new role, O'Donnell said, "Just being around kids every day. I hope to help kids reach their potential, and be a support to teachers."

O'Donnell, 49, has been part of the Linn-Mar school district for 18 years, starting as a behavior disorder teacher in junior high and most recently serving as director of early childhood. She previously worked in the Ankeny, Cedar Rapids and Carlisle school districts.
