Great teachers can make a huge difference in the life of a student.

I myself have benefited enormously from a handful of teachers who espoused passion and energy, which helped me find what I wanted for my life and career.

Every student has had teachers like this, and that is what the Linn-Mar LION Award is all about: rewarding good teachers.

But who qualifies?

  • L: Legend. The nominee has had an impact on students, staff and the community
  • I: Innovator. The nominee develops ideas to help students or staff, has new ideas that contribute to student growth, and makes a difference.
  • O: Optimizer. The nominee developed a new idea.
  • N: Newcomer. A person, who by his or her fifth year in the District, has made a significant impact on students through an extraordinary contribution of time and talent outside employment responsibilities. 

If you think you know just the right teacher for this award, complete a nomination form, here, and turn it in to the District Learning Resource Center at the Office of the Superintendent by March 8.
