What Linn-Mar Teachers are Retiring and Transferring This Summer?

Shannon Bisgard, the principal at Linn Grove Elementary, is among several staffing changes in the Linn-Mar school district.

Every year there's a few changes in the teacher and staff ranks.

Shannon Bisgard, the principal at Linn Grove Elementary, is leaving for employment outside the district, according to documents from the school board. His last day is on June 28. 

Bisgard helped open Linn Grove four years ago, and previously was principal at Bowman Woods Elementary School, Emerson Hough Elementary in Newton and West Elementary School in Independence. 

"It has even been more exciting to watch the kids in our school grow as students and as young people since Linn Grove has opened," Bisgard writes on his school's webpage. 

Here's who's on the move at Linn-Mar schools, according to minutes from a Linn-Mar School Board meeting.

Let's start with who won't be back with the district:

Amy Steiner, Novak second grade teacher, is relocating.
Deborah Garoutte, a social studies teacher for Excelsior, is retiring.
Pamela Musel, general help, for work outside the district.
Karen Smith, a production manager, is retiring.
Michael Geers, high school freshman head/assistant football coach, is leaving for personal reasons. 
Greg McCann, head football coach for seventh graders at Oak Ridge, is leaving for personal reasons. 
Steve Wampler, assistant seventh grade football coach at Oak Ridge, is leaving for personal reasons. 
Ryan Rader, guidance counselor and eighth grade boys basketball coach at Oak Ridge, is leaving for personal reasons. 

Here's other position changes: 

Debra Barry is moving from a seventh grade to eighth grade social studies teacher at Excelsior.
Donna Goodell is moving from a special education level 1 teacher to math/social sciences teacher at Excelsior. 
Anne Greiter is returning from a leave of absence to a position as a Novak second grade teacher.
Kelsey Kempf is moving from second grade at Bowman to eighth grade math teacher at Excelsior. 
Jay Lehman is moving from P.E. teacher at Oak Ridge to P.E. teacher at Bowman Woods. 
Christine McSweeney is switching from a special education level three to a special education level one teacher at Excelsior.
Austin Meeks is switching from a math/social sciences teacher to an eighth grade social sciences teacher at Excelsior.
Sean Smith is switching to a high school special education teacher.
Tammy Krotz is a program assistant at Bowman Woods.
Anthony Carfagna is assistant high school football coach for sophomores. 
Trevor Griggs will be a high school math teacher.
Pam Hackbarth is returning from a leave of absence to be a second grade teacher at Bowman Woods. 
Kristi Hicks will moving from associate principal at Excelsior to a district transition consultant. 
Patsy Hoobler is changing from a fifth grade teacher at Westfield to a first grade teacher at Indian Creek.
Lindsey Starmer will be a guidance counselor at Excelsior.
