New Year's Day Bowl Game TV Schedule: Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Outback Bowl, Capital One Bowl

A Linn-Mar grad is part of the action today as Stanford and Wisconsin suit up for the Rose Bowl. Michigan and South Carolina play in the Outback Bowl. Northern Illinois and Florida State get after it in the Orange Bowl.

For many college football fans, New Year's Day is the best day of the year.

It's nothing but big games from morning 'til night.

Marion area has a former standout in a prominent game today. David Parry, who graduated in 2010 from Linn-Mar, is a backup defensive tackle for Stanford. Stanford will play in the Rose Bowl against Wisconsin at 4 p.m. on ESPN.

The University of Iowa may not be going to a postseason bowl game for the first time since 2000, but there are plenty of intriguing football bowl games on the schedule this year. Former Linn-Mar standout David Parry, of Marion, is a backup at defensive tackle for the Stanford Cardinals. Sam Raridon, a West Des Moines Valley senior, has committed to Wisconsin. Zach Davison, who attended Waukee, is a junior tight end on Wisconsin.
