USA Today Releases Top High School Football Rankings; Where Does Linn-Mar and Marion Rank?
Where do the Linn-Mar Lions and Marion Indians stack up with Iowa's top football high schools?
USA Today's rankings of top high schools across the United States has been released.
Marion comes in at No. 39 among Iowa schools in the USA Today Super 25 rankings, while Linn-Mar is listed at No. 73. MaxPreps ranks Marion No. 39, and Linn-Mar No. 79.
Marion, a Class 3A school, finished 2012 with an 8-3 record, and the red and gold begin their season on Aug. 30 against Mount Pleasant.
Linn-Mar, which plays in Class 4A, starts the season on Aug. 30 at Iowa City West. Linn-Mar finished 2012 with a 3-6 record.
Defending state football champs Ankeny start off the year as the No. 1 team in Iowa in both MaxPreps and USA Today.
