Weather Alert: Marion

We have this caution from the National Weather Service.

It's going to be very hot, so hot, that one warning from the National Weather Service just won't do it.

They went and added another two.

The National Weather Service has announced a hazardous weather outlook, an excessive heat warning and a special weather statement, as it is supposed to be 98 degrees in Marion on Thursday.

The excessive heat warning, well, warns that the heat index may rise to 110 on Thursday. The weather service offered this casually grim statement, which has been translated from caps lock.

"Conditions will be most uncomfortable...and potentially dangerous from the mid afternoon to the early evening hours," according to the National Weather Service.

The special weather warning is concerning temperatures this afternoon. The weather service said the heat index will reach 95 to 100, and, coupled with high humidity levels, there's an increased risk of dehydration.

The hazardous weather outlook was issued not only for the aforementioned high temperatures, but because the conditions Thursday night and Friday morning will be just perfect for miserable, or "severe," thunderstorms.

Oh yeah, and there's also a chance of thunderstorms for every day after that until next Wednesday.
