Weather Alert Issued For the Entire Week in Marion

It is hot, hot, hot, and relief is nowhere in sight.

In case you hadn't noticed, it's hot. And it's not likely to cool off anytime soon.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Linn County. Usually, when the Weather Service issues an advisory, watch or warning, it only lasts for a few hours. Not this time.

The advisory is under effect from 7 a.m. today, Tuesday, through 7 a.m. Saturday.

According to the advisory, the heat index is expected to reach 100 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit each afternoon, with the actual temperature in the high 90s.

The advisory also warns heat will stay high at night, in the 80s.

Thankfully, the will remain open this Wednesday, the Fourth of July, until 5 p.m. I bet that will be very good news for a lot of area kids, and maybe a few adults.

So what do you do to beat the heat? Tell us in the comments.
