It's likely to get even hotter on Tuesday, when the heat index in Marion is expected to exceed 100 degrees.

The rest of the week should cool down, but not by all that much. High temperatures from Wednesday to Sunday will stay in the lower 90s and upper 80s.

Also, thunderstorms are also possible late Tuesday night, but they should not be severe, according to the weather service.
