Marion Police Make How Many Assault Arrests in Two Weeks?

The following information was provided by the Marion Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Marion Police charged four with various assault related charges in the two week period between July 6 and July 19. The following have been charged by police: Kari Jo Goodwin, 20, Marion, was charged July 6 with assault without intent to injure, at 1899 Seventh Avenue. Shayna Marie Bark, 27, 931 20th Street, Marion, was charged July 6 with two counts of assault without intent to injure, at 1899 Seventh Avenue.  Leonard Charles Webster, 36, Cedar Rapids, was charged July 7 with domestic assault causing serious injury/mental illness, at 145 Southview Drive. Kyle Dennis Gamma, 20, Cedar Rapids, was charged July 18 was charged with with a violation of a no contact order, due to domestic abuse, at 2640 Regal Court.

14-Year-Old Marion Boy Charged with Assault

The following information was provided by the Marion Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A 14-year-old Marion boy was charged with assault, according to the Marion Police Department. The boy was arrested May 24 at 5:19 p.m. Assault is a class D felony. Violent Crime Seven others were charged by the Marion Police Department with violent crimes in the time period between May 18 and May 31, according to police records. Jody Lee Funk, 40, Hiawatha, was charged May 18 with two counts of assault without intent to injure at 4680 Vasey Avenue. Jimmie Lavern Miller, 32, Cedar Rapids, was charged May 20 with assault without intent to injure, at 1625 Blairs Ferry Road. …

Fist Flies in Road Rage in Marion, Leads to Felony Charge

Dubuque resident Michael Shird has been charged with assault causing serious injury by the Marion Police Department.

According to a charge from the Marion Police Department, 44-year-old Dubuque resident Michael Shird came down with a bad case of road rage. Shird was driving last week on Monday and was flipped an offensive hand gesture by a driver that later claimed, according to Marion Police Chief Harry Daugherty, that Shird was "driving like an idiot." Shird responded by getting out of his car and punching the man through an open driver window. Marion police found Shird later that day shopping at the east end shopping center in Marion and charged him with assault causing serious injury. Assault causing serious injury is a class D felony.

65-Year-Old Woman Charged with Assault, Fifth Degree Theft, at Hy-Vee Drugstore

The following information was provided by the Marion Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Joyce Leah Lindemann, a 65-year-old Marion woman was recently charged with assault and fifth degree theft at the Hy-Vee Drugstore on Seventh Avenue. Lindermann was charged on Feb. 23 at 1:26 p.m. in the afternoon. Feb. 18 Kenneth Edward Leffler, 37, 2080 Eighth Street, Marion, was charged with domestic assault causing serious injury or mental illness, at 2080 Eigth Street. Alexander Christian Garrett, 33, 3175 Eight Street, Marion, was charged with driving while intoxicated/drugged, first offense and an open container violation in the driver’s side, at 3175 Eight Street. Kristy Jolynn Gilligan, 34, Cedar Rapids, was charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to use seat belts, at the 2200 block of Tenth Street. Hubert Gavin …
