Shannon Cardinal, the 43-year-old former Wisconsin high school teacher, has pleaded not guilty at her arraignment last Friday.
The former Wisconsin teacher accused of having sex with a Marion teenage boy pleaded not guilty to six counts of sexual assault of a student and six counts of child enticement on Friday. She also waved her right to a preliminary hearing. As we've previously reported, Shannon Cardinal, the 43-year-old woman, was accused back in April of having a sexual relationship with a now 17-year-old Marion teen. The relationship allegedly began when he was 16-years-old and attended Mayville High School in Mayville, WI. She later made trips to the Marion boy's home, according to police documents, after he had moved from Wisconsin earlier this year. If convicted on all counts of each charge, she can receive up to 186 years in prison.

The 43-year-old Wisconsin teacher accused of having sex with a 17-year-old Marion teen will be facing a preliminary hearing in Fon Du Lac County, WI, at 2 p.m. this Friday. Shannon Cardinal faces six counts each of sexual assault and child enticement. All totaled, she can face up to 186 years in prison if convicted. She allegedly hid her consentual relationship with the teen, which police say started when he was 16, by driving him to her home after school. When he moved from Wisconsin to Marion last March, she allegedly visited him when his parents were out of town. Cardinal faces no charges in Iowa.

A Wisconsin woman accused of having a sexual relationship with a former student, who now lives in Marion, will not face charges in Iowa, police say. Shannon Cardinal, 43, is facing up to 186 years in prison for allegedly having sex with the boy, who is now 17. The alleged encounters mainly occurred at Cardinal's residence in Wisconsin, but at least one allegedly occurred in Marion.
