Abbe Center for Community Care Set to Close at the End of September

The Abbe Center for Community Care residential facility has served Linn County for 25 years.

A longtime mental healthcare provider in Linn County is set to close its doors at the end of September due to insufficient funds.

KWWL is reporting that the Abbe Center for Community Care, at 1860 County Home Road, will be shuttered on September 30. Abbe Center employees are working on finding a new location for the patients, including those from Marion.

After more than 25 years of working with Linn County, the Abbe Center for Community Care will close on Sept. 30.

"They can not afford to continue losing the level of money that they've been losing," said Linda Langston, a Linn County Supervisor.

The center provides transitional and residential services for adults with mental illness.
