(Video) Philip's Diamond Shop Makes a Mark with New Laser

The laser engraver is one of the few of its kind being used in the area.

If you've been into Philip's Diamond Shop lately you may have noticed an interesting looking box next to a computer in the corner behind the far counter.

This box is home to one of the newest pieces of equipment in the Philip's arsenal: a computer guided laser that can be used to do everything from engrave images on guns and Iphones to providing distinguishing jeweler marks on each item that is made at Philip's, saving time over doing the process manually.

Designer Ben High said that the group at Philip's is still learning about the capabilities of the laser engraver, but that the possibilities could be endless.

In this video demo, watch as the Marion Patch logo is engraved with the laser into a piece of scrap brass they are using to experiment with the new engraver.
